In a world where war creates a devastating effect on foreign citizens, who have no business and connection to the dispute between two or more countries fighting each other. A global nongovernmental organization called FOREIGN STRANDED NIGERIANS aidS was birthed from the inception of the Russian invasion in Ukraine. On FEB 24th 2022 after the bomb blast that occurred in the city of Kyiv and subsequent missile shooting in various cities causing chaos and destruction, a peaceful country that has educated some of the brightest minds in the world through their excellent educational system was falling apart.
A group of young intellectual people from different workers of life and industries who individually were helping stranded Nigerians with food, shelter, and navigating their way to different borders felt a need to organize themselves together since the Nigerian government was not responding promptly to their citizens in Ukraine. Many spent days underground in bunkers for their safety and a critical incident of 539 Nigerians stranded in SUMY, a city located in the eastern part of Ukraine that shares a border with Russia. This left many emotionally unstable and depressed.

From conflict and disasters in times of war, situations of mass displacement of Nigerians who are stranded, safe and adequate shelter is a critical component of the Russia-in-Ukraine war crisis response. Providing shelter is necessary to survival and is an essential component in protecting the privacy and dignity of affected Nigerians in Ukraine. Enhance displacement management in camps, areas of return, and out-of-camp sites to ensure equitable and dignified access to services, assistance, and protection for IDPs.
